ReplyDeleteOur overall impression of your photos was that a lot of focus was on bottles themselves instead of the shapes created from lighting and shadows. With many of the photos the possibility of creating more diverse lighting and focus on a specific area was lost with a lower focal length (more zoomed out), whereas if you had changed the angle and focus, theres a more dramatic feeling to the picture. For example, intensity photos 3,4, and 5, we felt that #3 didn't have that dramatic feeling to it, and 4 accentuate that, whereas 5 had more diverse lighting and helped to exaggerate that sense.
We thought that picture 8 was very interesting, because it had such a small area in focus that really peaked our interest. Temperature 9 was also very interesting to us, as there seems to be this halo in between shadows on the center bottle. As far as the application of temperature, there's the possibility of adding more diverse temperatures, but the way that you used the lighting to achieve that effect was very interesting.
Overall we really felt that there's a lot of potential behind your photos, and with more learning and practice they will begin to shine.
Good job!
Thank you so very much for your feedback. I will certainly take it into account for the next project.
DeleteOverall, the project is complete and is organized in an understandable way. From examining the photos, i believe you have full understanding of the 5characteristics and did follow the project brief. Some of the exposures were a little bright but overall look very good. Some of the photos in the beginning were more about the bottles than the lighting but as you when on they became more about the lighting and shadows. You definitely fixed it as you went on. It is clear that the photos have an individual voice. I think that the temperature and direction were your most successful characteristics. I don’t think you had any trouble with the others. My favorite photo was temperature number 9 because of the warmth and shadows.
