You Know Better

  1. Over the past eight weeks of this course I have learned about the many different settings of my camera, how to alter a setting and how these two things can work together. Before, I was unaware of the many settings of the camera and how they can alter an image. I was aware of some things to alter a set, such as using a white board to reflect light, but I was not aware of things like changing the lighting temperature to make it appear like sunlight. I have learned so much more about the camera being used as an artistic tool instead of it being a simple image capture device. In my work going forward, I am excited to be able to apply what I have learned in this class to create unique and artistic looking images that I might not otherwise have been able to create.

  2. Hi,
I really enjoyed all of your pictures! Specifically how you can tell you carefully thought out how to place the bones through each set and how you put creativity and what you've learned so far this semester, into your work. Great job!

    1. Hi Sabrina,
Thank you for critique! I appreciate that you mentioned how my compositions added to the photos. This is usually something I try to focus on to add interest.

  3. Your "you know better" images demonstrate your ability to manipulate lighting and camera settings effectively. The use of intentional camera shake gave the images where that technique was used a distinct look and feel. You did a great job of experimenting with that technique in a way that enhances the images. The images with extreme depth of field led my eyes to the lighting of the object that was in focus. I also want to compliment your diverse exposures. All of the techniques you used resulted in great pictures.
