Hi, I enjoyed having the chance to find out the story behind your work. Hearing about how you took some of these pictures with your friend while you were at their house gave me a clear sense of what your experience was like. One aspect of your story which I found particularly interesting was your description of shooting the mixed light photos. You used the illuminated sign of the lips to great effect and I enjoyed hearing the process behind those pictures. I also liked hearing about how you enjoyed photographing the texture of wood. You used this texture in combination with the lighting excellently.
ReplyDeleteAnna,
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned in your presentation that you struggled with your blue hour which is interesting because I feel that all of your blue light photos were perfect. From our group zoom it sounds like all of us struggled to get blue light just right. Overall your chosen photos for this project are appropriate for this assignment. I think your creativity in this project really shines through when you go out of your way to create your own artificial light for the mixed lighting scenario. It's also cool how the lips in the photo created a very cool line that draws the eye through the entire image.
Hi Anna,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photos that you took were your midday photos. The texture that you were able to capture makes the photos very unique and Abstract. I think that because you decided to take your photos a close-up objects that this added an interesting element. All of your photos follow a similar theme which made them very cohesive. I think that because you decided to do this that your photos pay more attention to the lighting rather than the objects and lighting themselves. My favorite of your photos are your mixed lighting. I like how creative you got with these and how you used the lighting to create an interesting composition. I also think that your golden hour photos were very visually striking and interesting. My favorite photo of yours is of the chair and I like how you were able to capture the Shadow and create a composition that draws the viewer's eye around the photo.
Anna,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that you shared that most of your photos were taken at a friends house and I thought you found great places to capture the lighting examples in the assignment. I remember you saying that your favorite photos were of the big neon lips and I thought it was smart that you had to make your own light since there is barely any out in Pueblo west which I noticed as well. I love how the red is blurry and creates strong contrast. I also like the photos you took at Lake Pueblo State Park. The up close shots of the tree trunks in your midday photos I thought were so cool! The texture was amazing and I think my overall favorites were the chair photo in your golden hour set as well as the first mixed lighting photo you posted! I appreciate how your photos had much more to offer and really drew in your attention! Great job :)
Anna,
ReplyDeleteI really loved viewing your body of work for this assignment. Your mixed lighting lips were fantastic! I love how you found your own light when faced with the mixed lighting and your location. I also really loved the macro shots of the bark, the texture you were able to pick up is amazing. I thought the line of the truck bumper made for a very interesting composition as well as the top of the door in your blue hour shots. I very much enjoyed hearing how you got your shots as I viewed the work. Well done.
