  1. Hi Clayton!

It really is a privilege to see such a familiar location, like campus, through another perspective. As you stated earlier, your work, particularly your golden hour photos, feature strong use of lighting that is evident by long shadows, strong highlights, and color temperature. Like you, I also found blue hour to be challenging to capture photos. One aspect, I particularly enjoyed was seeing the red concrete pilars in both your blue hour and midday sections.

    Well done!

  2. Clayton,
As a whole your project is astounding. You mentioned in the group meeting that most of your photos were done on campus. The photos represented here did a good job to show creativity and a good eye for catching interesting subjects. I especially liked that a lot of your photos were focusing on man made objects rather than nature. For instance your photos of midday with cement poles demonstrated a good example of midday light with increased shadows. I also noticed a lot of your photos used symmetry and balance. The photo that stood out the most to me was your mixed lighting with the florescent lights of a building in the right corner and the natural light in the top left corner. This composition created a satisfying use of balance that pulls the viewer in.

  3. Hi Clayton,
I really like how you were able to complete the assignment while still remaining on campus. I think that you were able to create very interesting compositions out of ordinary things. I think that your photos take everyday objects and present them in interesting ways. My favorite are your midday photos because of the interesting angles that all of these contain as well as visually balanced compositions. I like how you chose to look at shadows in these photos and use them to your advantage to create angles. I also struggled with blue hour the most but I still feel that your photos contain the same angles and elements as your other photos do. I also really liked your mixed lighting photos. I think they did a good job of creating a contrast between natural and unnatural light settings.

  4. Clayton,
I am very impressed with the fact that you said all the photos you took were on campus and that you overcame that obstacle while capturing great photos. I enjoyed the shapes and colors you were able to obtain and in a way your photos seems playful and fun! My favorite midday photo was the second one since I thought the color and shadow complemented each other. I also really like the second and third photos of the mixed lighting since it has nice contrast and strong repetition! Good job !

  5. Hi Clayton,
I really enjoyed the compositions you were able to find while on campus. I really liked all the midday architectural photos you had especially in our courtyard area. The golden hour shots were also very beautiful with the 1st and 4th one really standing out to me, they are gorgeous. Your mixed lighting photos were also very well captured with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th being my favorites with the geometric angles and linear spaces you photographed. I think you did extremely well with the assignment and captured the lighting beautifully.
